Oh, Jessica Paré! You are so pretty, and it’s neat how your career is taking off, but it’s such a shame New York put you on the cover not just looking like you have to pee but looking like you have to pee while floating in a sea of pee. Zou pee-sou pee-sou.
Meaghan posted something about this book by Sarah Manguso, Two Kinds of Decay, which sounds like something I’d like to read, although if I ever do that it will ultimately probably be because of the cover. It looks so much like this great Evil Dead poster that Mondo did a while ago, which has been sold out for forever, and copies of which, last time I checked, were going for some preposterous amounts of money on eBay. What’s the point of this? I’m not sure. I just like these creepy hands and trees a lot, I guess is all I’m saying.

(Funny, I just realized he’s done some variation on this for his other two album covers, too! All the rando pretty ladies should get together and start their own band. I have an idea for the name. It involves the phrase “Rando Pretty Ladies.” Shall I say that again? No? OK.)
- this morning as i was walking into work my sandal broke. i’ve been walking barefoot all day.
- the company that owns my paper laid off a bunch of incredible talented people today and instituted pay cuts for those of us left. (i write and design things and am always looking for freelance work.)
- yelled at a kardashian on twitter today, which is pretty embarrassing, but i get FIRED UP about southern foodways and misperceptions regarding same.
- hallelujah, holy shit, where’s the tylenol.
If you need something cool designed and/or written, please ask Brooke to do it. She is one of the funniest people I know and very very talented!
OK, Plants & Animals. You’ve either wittingly or unwittingly set the bait, and I’ll bite. But this better be damn good.
Update: And the verdict is—well, if The Last Waltz was on Rdio, I’d have switched over to that about three songs in, probably. The album is OK. If I’m going to uselessly grump about something today, though, I’d rather uselessly grump about the digital unavailability of the greatest live album in rock history but even that seems lame because it’s on my iPod but my iPod is like in my bag all the way across my office and ugh, so far, I even just tried to telekinete it over here and nothing! NOTHING! Arghh my liiiiife
