Wasn’t sure before, but I’m now willing to bet that the Prine-y ness of Pistol Annies’ “Lemon Drop” might not be entirely accidental; I just realized Miranda Lambert covered “That’s The Way The World Goes Round” on Revolution, which—well, I’m not sure I love this as much. It’s maybe the, uh, sexiest Prine cover I’ve ever seen done? (“Dead Flowers,” on the same record, is unfortunately not a Rolling Stones cover.) Though Lambert didn’t write “Lemon Drop,” one of the other Annies did, so maybe it’s mostly irrelevant.

Roger Ebert was the first person to ever review John Prine. I did not know this but I love this.

Aside from this, this is all I want to listen to today. I love it as much as I hoped I would, which is a lot.
