Eric just posted a pretty accurate description of what it’s like to be asked about writing for Pitchfork, and it reminded me that a few months ago I figured out what it is people think when they hear “I write for Pitchfork” and how ludicrous that is contrasted with the reality of “I write for Pitchfork.” This divide is illustrated above. (Kraken gif from god knows where; photo of me is actually somewhat inaccurate as it was taken at my day-job desk, which is actually a desk, and not the spot from which I do most of my writing for Pitchfork, which happens at various locations around my house, none of which are a desk. Also I am wearing pants here. But you get the idea.)
